Did You Know?

According to the cast commentary, the woman pictured in the ad for the reality show that Julia goes onto is Alyson Hannigan's stunt double.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Many small errors are probably left in deliberately to fit the absurd nature of the movie.

Julia Jones: What happens when the ho doesn't give up all the cash?
Little Jack: [Swings his hands]
Julia Jones: [Turns illustration card over to a picture of a man slapping a woman] That's right Little Jack! Keep your pimp hand strong!
Julia Jones: [Picks up another card] What happens when the dime bag is a little light?
Little Jack: [Pinches his fingers]
Julia Jones: [Turns the card over to a picture of a drug dealer] Right! The dealer pinched!
Julia Jones: [Picks up a third card] What happens when someone rats us out to the cops?
Little Jack: [Makes a stabbing motion]
Julia Jones: [Turns the card over to a picture of a man being stabbed] Shiv 'em in the kidney.

A Complete Waste Of Time

Rating: 1/10

The previews looked very promising- another funny looking parody film on the 'date movies' we've seen over the past few years. But this was anything but funny. I saw an advanced screening this evening with an entirely full theater and as the scenes trudged along, practically everyone was sitting in stunned silence. The gags are predictable, the jokes are drawn out to ridiculous lengths and the usually comedic cast are, quite frankly, wasted in this mess. This makes the Scary Movie series look like The Godfather collection in comparison. And I happened to enjoy the Scary Movie series. Perhaps if you've never actually seen a satire before you will get a few chuckles out of this, but for everyone else this is just a tired & recycled complete waste of time. The only good thing about Date Movie is its short running time so you won't have to be tortured for more than 80 minutes.
